2016 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog Product Share Sign Up NOW!

Hey Stampers and Crafters I am excited to announce that I am doing a Product Share for the new Upcoming holiday catalog!!!   And I am even more excited to be able to offer them to you my friends.   Pictured below are examples of cards made with some of the new products.

Sharable1_HolidayPreOrder_demo_Aug_NA.jpg

So – what’s a catalog share?

Well – it’s a chance to get your feet wet in the 2016 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog. If you were to buy one of each new paper set, one of each new ribbon and embellishment and trim…you’d spend over $140!!

But – with catalog shares – you can get a taste of every new paper. Ever new ribbon and trim. Every new embellishment! For a fraction of the cost.

I am doing this with a set number of eight people per group. After the group is filled I will close that  group.   So get in while you can!   Deadline to join in September 3rd.

At this time I will place the orders and once I get everything to me(which is usually a week after I place an order).   I will cut ad prepare the packages to ship them back to you.  I will ship Priority Mail only!  I will only be excepting PayPal payments for this.  So make sure you put your email address in the form.  After you order your share I will send you a PayPal Invoice you will have 48 hours to send your money or I will have to cancel your share.   Sorry been burned in the past and this is how it will be handled.

Paying with PayPal

To pay you, the invoice recipient will:
  1. Open your email, read the invoice, and see the PayPal payment button.
  2. Click the payment button in the email.
  3. Log in to the secure PayPal payment page.
  4. Review the details of your invoice.
  5. Click Pay.

Buyers Can Checkout Without a PayPal Account

PayPal has optimized the checkout experience with an exciting improvement to our payment flow.*

For new buyers, signing up for a PayPal account is now optional. This means your customers can complete their payments first, and then decide whether to save their information in a PayPal account for future purchases. The checkout is more convenient, resulting in more completed sales and satisfied customers.

Best of all, this upgrade requires no action on your part. The checkout automatically applies to Website Payment tools like Buy Now Buttons, Donations, and PayPal Shopping Cart, as well as our Request Money and PayPal Invoicing features.

Here’s how this easier checkout works:

Customers enter their name and shipping address. They’re prompted for their credit card, email address, and phone number. (Optional) After reviewing their information, they may choose to save their information by creating a PayPal account to make future transactions faster.

Please note that PayPal’s fraud prevention measures remain in effect for buyers who use this checkout. PayPal applies the same techniques for this checkout as it does for other transactions.

Pokemon Go for PCC213

Hello Stampers and Crafters I hope that you are doing well today.  Today I am sharing with you my card for the Paper Craft Crew Weekly design challenge.  This week we have a fun challenge for you.  For those of you that don’t know what we do, well each week we host a weekly challenge for people to take part in.  If you want to improve your design skills, or card techniques a card challenge will do just that.   I challenge you to take part in this weeks sketch challenge.  Here is the sketch for this weeks challenge.

img_0583

As you can see the challenge sketch is left very open to interpretation.  You can take the sketch and make it in too any thing that you want.   That’s the great thing about card challenges.  As you can see from the paper craft crew design teams version.   Each designer took a different take on this weeks challenge.  Here’s my card  for this weeks challenge

pokemon-go-card

With all the buzz over Pokemon Go it felt fitting that I created this card for this weeks challenge.  It really is a quick and easy card to recreate.   The Poke ball was created using the layering framelits dies and a 3/4″ circle punch and a 1/2″ circle punch.  I embossed the bottom of the card with the Polka dot texture impression embossing folder, to mimic the poke ball.   I separated the top and bottom of the card with black and white.   To add just a little sparkle and shine to my card I added a Silver glimmer strip down the center.  If you notice my color combination mimics that of the poke ball as
well.

Pokemon Go Card #PCC213

copyright by Rick D. Adkins of R. C. Kinsmon Studio

On the inside of my card I created a little Pikachu using the fox builder punch.

pokemon-go-inside

I also added the same elements on the inside as the outside.  The white layer and the stars.  On the side of the white layer I added the black stripe but instead of the polka dots I used the stars embossing folder.

That finishes my card for today and I hope that you pop over to the Paper craft crew page and play along with us this week.  You will will a great time taking part in this weeks sketch challenge.   You can click on the link above or by clicking on the sketch image and go to the page and check out all the great cards the design team has created for you for inspiration.

Quick & Easy Halloween Treats Card Video Tutorial

Hello Stampers and crafters thanks for joining me for today’s blog/vlog post.  Today I am going to show you a quick and easy Halloween Card using the Halloween Treats stamp set from Stampin’ Up! in the brand new 2016 Holiday Catalog.  If you have your catalog the stamp set is on page 58.   This stamp can be used for so many different things, from treat tags, to cards to scrapbook embellishments.   It’s only as limited as your imagination.  Here’s a look at my card for today.

halloween treat card.jpg

This is such a quick card that you can make a ton with just a few supplies and a couple Stampin’ Write markers.  What no ink pads?  Nope, just three markers, wow how easy and fun it that.  I actually show you in the video that I stamped it wrong the first time and still had time to redo it, and the video is still under 15 minutes long.

Here are a close up of both cards that I created.  I used Basic Gray as one card base and Pumpkin Pie as the other.   Just that simple change will change how the card looks.   But I wanted to show you that you can change things up and still have a great card.

Halloween Scares Online Tutorial featuring the Black Ombre Ink Pad

Hello Stampers and Crafters today’s card features the new Halloween Scares Stamp Set and the Black Ombre Ink Pad from the new 2016 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog.   This is also two of the items that I am using in my Halloween Scenes Online Class that you can sign up to take until September 22.   This was a fun quick and easy card.

Here’s My Card:

Halloween scares alternative card.jpg

This card is so quick you can do it in about 10 minutes.   How great is that.   I love a quick and easy card sometimes.   Whomever you send it too never has to know how quick it was to make.  And the ombre pad gives a great gradient effect.

tips and tricks:

When you use your ombre pad for the first time with a stamp I have found it’s better to stamp it on some scratch paper a couple of times.  This seems to prime the stamp and you get a better image.   You also need to tap the stamp to the pad using a slight up and down motion, meaning you are going to go up and down the pad slightly moving along the pad about a millimeter or so so that you can get ink from all the pads.  You don’t want to stay in one place because this will leave very hard lines in your image.

Cardstock sizes & dimensions:

  • Pumpkin Pie 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4
  • Old Olive 5 1/4 x 4
  • Basic Black  5 1/8 x 3 7/8
  • Whisper White 3 3/4 x 5

Halloween scares close up.jpg

The torn edge added to the the spooky feel of the scene.  This is such an easy technique to add texture to your card.  You just grab it with both hands where you want the torn edge to be.  Next you pull slightly with your right hand toward you until you get all the way down.  How easy!   But gives a big impact with such a simple card.   I did this with both the black and white pieces.  I did adhere the white card front to the black after the torn edge so that I could rip the black piece to make sure my edges aligned.

Video Tutorial:

That’s my card for today thanks for dropping by.   If you need any of the supplies you’ve seen today you can pick them up in my online store 24/7 by clicking on the link here,  by visiting my website, clicking on the shopping tab above, or by clicking on the product in the list below.   If you are interested in the online class you can click here!  I would love for you to join us!

Paper Piecing using Moroccan Nights from Stampin’ up!

Today’s card is one that I had worked on over the summer and I am just getting a chance to post it for you.   I wanted to play with the Moroccan Night Stamp set to see what I could do with it.  I wanted to see how many colors I could use the mandala stamp with and recreate it using paper piecing.

Well I found my inspiration for my card from a summer fashion show.  Yes I saw some of our Stampin’ Up! colors in a Bibhu Sahu runway show.  Here’s the inspiration photo.

img_0762

Image  from Fashion TV website

Here’s my card that was inspired from the picture above.

morrocan-madalla-card

Color Combination:

Tips and Tricks:

I stamped this image in each color and then fuzzy cut the parts I wanted in each color.  I adhered each piece either with snail.  You could also use Stampin dimensionals to create depth on  certain layers.  The hardest part of this card is getting the angles of the cuts just right.   And then figuring out which layer to place where.

morrocan-madalla-card-1

This is where the inspiration photograph came in handy.  I used the Always Artichoke as a mat on my Basic Black card base.   Then mats in Basic Black and Perfect Plum cardstocks were created for the 3 1/8 x 3″ Whisper White cardstock that I stamped my base image on.

Paper Piecing

  • So the first step in to paper piecing is to stamp the image many times.  .  I stamped it in each of the colors multiple times so that I could cut it apart and layer it together to see which combination I liked best.
  • This makes it easy to see which color looks best against what color.
  • After you have all that figured out it’s time to put everything together and glue it down.   This is the time to decide if you want it all to be flat or to have some dimension.   After you make that choice then it’s time to jump in and glue it down.
  • Done

Finishing touch:

To finish off the card I added some Basic Black Candy Dots trying to use up some retired embellishments.    So to add a little more glamour to this card I added some bling in the here and there where it just needed something.   This made the card sparkle and was a great addition.  I mean who doesn’t love bling.

I left the sentiment off the card because I want sure what would look best.  If you have any thoughts leave them in the comment section below.

Thanks for dropping by today and we will see you again soon.
